In design of the Library of Health Sciences designed for Hacettepe University due to position of the building three important criteria became prominent in order to ensure user comfort: Acoustic requirements arising out of optimum natural lighting, natural ventilation and environmental noise sources for each space. Therefore, the structure which is divided into two main sections is different from other conventional library designs with its atrium which provides access to all study areas and landscaping design of this atrium. Cost-effective materials in terms of lifecycle assessment and with ecologically low footprint were used in interior and exterior spaces.
