It’s #worldwindday !

We have included a wind turbine in our Green Technology Vocational School project- situated in a city and not a wind farm.
Wind energy can be implemented at several scales and is applicable in pretty much any context just as long as there is wind- considerations are available wind capacity for the startup speed of the chosen turbine and noise levels. Apart from energy generating wind turbines, there are passive wind systems that reduce the need for energy. The ones called wind chimneys or windcatchers today have been used in Southeast Anatolia, Iran and around the Middle East for thousands of years under the name “Badgir”. In Iran, badgirs work with underground water channels named “Qanat” for cooling, providing a wind+geothermal hybrid system.
